Important Thinkers
In 1959, a small American literary journal asked Albert Camus:
Question: On several occasions you have remarked that your only true lessons in morality have come from sports. What was the moral instruction provided by sports?
On December 20th that year, just three weeks before his death, Albert Camus wrote back:
Camus: Loyal obedience to the rules of the game jointly defined and freely accepted.
